How should I reply when someone DMs just asking the price?
Reply templates that give the price and the next step in one message, so the buyer is not left guessing or waiting.

Someone sends a single word. "Price?" Under a product photo it sits and waits. Many sellers reply with just a number and the chat ends. The buyer saw the number, thought about it, and drifted away. A better reply gives the price and tells them what to do next, all in one message.
What a good price reply contains
- A greeting that sounds like a person.
- The price, clearly, with what it includes.
- One useful extra detail, such as size or material.
- The next step, as a link.
That is it. No sales pitch.
Template one, the standard reply
- Hi [name], thank you for asking. The [product] is Rs [price] and includes [what is included].
- It comes in [sizes or colours].
- You can order at [store link]. Happy to answer anything else.
Template two, when price depends on a choice
- Hi [name]. It depends on the size. Small is Rs [x], medium is Rs [y].
- Which one would suit you? I can share a size chart.
- Once you decide, you can order at [store link].
Template three, when you suspect a bargain request
Some people ask the price hoping for a discount. Reply with respect and without panic.
- Hi [name]. The price is Rs [price], which is what the materials and the making cost me.
- I do not change the price for individual orders, but I send occasional offers to my list. Would you like to hear when one comes?
Only say there is an offer list if you really keep one. Do not pretend to have a discount you are not offering.
Template four, for a bulk question
- Thanks for asking. For one piece it is Rs [price].
- If you need [number] or more, tell me the quantity and I will quote you.
If you offer lot pricing, bulk orders and lot pricing helps you decide a fair structure.
Reply fast, but not at midnight
A same-day reply is a good aim. You do not need to answer within a minute, and you do not need to stay up for a DM. I will not claim that quick replies raise your sales by any amount. They simply show a buyer that a real person runs the shop.
Save the replies
Open your notes app and store these templates. Many phones let you create text shortcuts so that typing a few letters inserts the whole reply. Personalise the greeting each time, so it never feels copy-pasted.
Cut the repeats
If you get many price DMs, the real fix is upstream. Put the price in the caption, as described in writing captions that answer price and size questions. The DMs that remain become real conversations about choosing and buying.
Finally, send the link every time. A buyer who has to ask "how do I order?" is a buyer who might give up. Keeping one clear route, from DM to store, is the same idea discussed in why selling in Instagram DMs stops working.
