What should my Instagram link in bio point to?
Why a single link to your store usually beats a list of links, and how to decide what that one link should be.

You get one clickable link on your profile, and it is the most valuable real estate you own. Many sellers waste it on a page of ten buttons. A visitor who arrives curious ends up choosing between "Website", "WhatsApp", "Catalogue", "Reviews", "Contact" and gives up.
Point it at the store
Your best default is your store itself. That is where a visitor can see products, prices, photos and checkout in one place. Everything else, such as contact details, delivery information and policies, can live on the store too. A visitor then needs one tap to see what you sell and one more to buy.
If you already have your own domain, use it. A clean address looks trustworthy and is easy to say aloud. The reasons are laid out in your brand on its own domain.
Why not a list of links
Link-in-bio tools that show a menu of buttons feel convenient for you, because you can add anything. For the buyer they add a decision before the first purchase. Ask what you want a visitor to do. If the answer is "buy something", send them to where they can buy something.
There is also the question of who owns that page. A third-party link page is another place your traffic goes through. The hidden cost of a link-in-bio tool goes through what that can mean for a growing brand. I will not state any platform's rules on linking here, because they change. Check Instagram's own help pages for what your account supports.
When to point somewhere else
A single store link is a default, not a law. Change it for a reason.
- A launch day. Point to the new collection page or product for a few days.
- A festival sale. Point to a collection of gift items.
- A pre-order. Point to the product page that explains timing.
After the moment passes, switch back to the main store link. Say what changed in your bio or a story so visitors know where they are going.
Make the landing page match the post
If your latest post shows a green cotton kurta, the link should not land on a homepage dominated by something else. Where you can, link to the collection that contains what you just posted. Consistency between post and landing page is part of why people trust a click.
Keep other contact routes visible but secondary
Some buyers still prefer WhatsApp. Mention it in the bio text, such as "questions? message us", while keeping the link for the store. Add your social links to your store footer so people can find you across platforms, as described in adding Instagram and YouTube links to your store footer.
Test the link
Once a month, tap your own link from a phone on mobile data. Does it load quickly? Does it open the right page? Is the checkout working? A broken link in bio is a silent leak, because nobody tells you.
A tidy one-link profile also helps the earlier steps. Pair it with a clear bio from writing an Instagram bio that explains your products and you have a profile that does its job without you.
