Customising your storefront theme, hero image, and text

How your Varchas store home reflects your brand through its theme, hero image, and hero text.

The first thing a visitor sees when they land on your store sets the tone for everything that follows. If it looks like a generic template with your logo dropped in, that is exactly the impression a customer walks away with, no matter how good your actual products are. Getting the storefront theme, hero image, and hero text right is less about decoration and more about making that first impression match your brand.

What you can customise

Your store's theme, hero image, and hero text are all configurable, meaning the look and first message of your store home is built around your brand specifically, rather than a fixed layout every store shares identically. The hero section is what a visitor sees first, before scrolling into your catalogue, and it is worth treating that space with some intention.

Why the hero matters more than it seems

A hero image and a short line of hero text are often the only things a visitor reads or looks at before deciding whether to keep browsing. This is not the place for a long explanation of your brand's history, it is the place for a clear, immediate signal of what you sell and why someone should care, backed by an image that represents your products or your brand's feel well.

How this connects to Behind the brand

Below the hero section, your storefront can also include the videos and reels covered in putting your reels on your store, under the "Behind the brand" heading. Together, the hero and this section give a new visitor both an immediate first impression and a deeper look at your brand's story, without needing to click away to Instagram to get either.

Matching your theme to a Drop

If your brand runs limited collections through Drops, it is worth thinking about whether your hero image and text should shift temporarily during an active Drop, so a visitor arriving during that window immediately understands what is currently available, rather than seeing a generic hero unrelated to what is actually live right now.

Getting this set up

Your storefront theme, hero image, and hero text are set as part of your store's initial setup, worked out together with the Varchas team rather than something you configure alone through a settings panel with no guidance. This means the visual direction of your store gets decided with someone who has seen what tends to work, not through trial and error on your own.

Updating it over time

Your storefront is not fixed once it goes live. As your brand evolves, seasonally or as your product range grows, your hero image and text can be updated to keep the store home feeling current rather than stuck at whatever it looked like on day one.

Next step

If your current online presence still looks entirely like a generic Instagram grid with no real storefront identity, getting a proper hero and theme set up is one of the more visible changes a store makes. The Founding Offer covers the first 10 stores with setup done together. Get in touch at /early-access.
