What can I change in my store settings and where is each thing?

A tour of the eight tabs in Admin > Settings, so you know where to go for payments, shipping, homepage text, social links and alerts.

When something on your store needs changing, the hardest part is often remembering which screen it lives on. In the Varchas admin, almost everything about how your store looks and behaves sits under one page, Settings, split into eight tabs across the top. This post walks through each tab so you know where to go next time.

Business setup

This tab is about taking online payments through Cashfree. It shows a short step-by-step panel: you share your business details, the account is set up, you verify with Cashfree, and then you turn payments on. If you are only just getting started with UPI and cards, begin here. There is a separate post on what this tab is for.

Store details

Four plain fields: store name, domain, support email and GSTIN. This is your store's identity and the contact customers see. Your domain and name are worth getting right early.

Customer payments

Here you choose which checkout methods shoppers see: pay online, partial COD and cash on delivery. Below the toggles sit your Cashfree App ID, Secret Key and mode, plus the advance settings for partial COD. There is also a separate switch for letting shoppers order without creating an account.

Shipping

Two amounts, a free shipping threshold and a standard shipping charge, plus the pickup address that Shiprocket collects parcels from. For the wider picture on couriers, see shipping across India.

Affiliate payouts

A single field for the store-wide affiliate commission percentage. Individual affiliates can be given their own rate from the Affiliates screen, but this is the default. The idea behind it is covered in affiliates and referral links.

Storefront

The busiest tab for day-to-day changes. It holds your social links (Instagram, X, YouTube and email), a link to the storefront theme editor, the homepage copy (hero title, tagline, subtitle and the announcement bar) and the hero image.

Catalogue

This tab is the list of product types: the options that fill the Type dropdown when you add a product, and the type filter on your shop. You can add, rename and delete types here.

Analytics and alerts

Your Google Analytics 4 ID, Meta Pixel ID, Microsoft Clarity project ID and the email address that hears about new orders. An SMS row is shown too, but it is marked as not connected.

How saving works

Most tabs share one Save Settings button that sits at the bottom of the page. That means you can change a few things across Store details, Shipping and Storefront and save them together. Two tabs behave differently: Business setup has its own buttons for submitting details, and Catalogue saves each type as you add, rename or delete it.

If a save fails, a message appears next to the button explaining why, for example that a support email is not a valid address or that at least one payment method has to stay switched on.

What is not here

Orders, products, coupons, customers and drops have their own screens in the admin menu, not under Settings. Theme colours and fonts live in the theme editor, which the Storefront tab links to. If you are hunting for a setting that is not on these eight tabs, it is probably on one of those screens.

A sensible first pass

If you have just set up a store, a good order is: Store details, then Shipping, then Storefront, then Customer payments, then Analytics and alerts. Save after each tab if you like, since saving one tab does not lose the others. Then come back to Catalogue once you know what kinds of products you sell.
