How do I announce a restock on Instagram?
Restock caption templates that tell returning buyers what is back, what changed and where to order, without inventing scarcity.

A restock is quietly one of your best posts. The people who care most about it already wanted the product once. Some of them messaged you, some saved the post, some just remembered. Your job is to tell them it is back and make ordering easy.
What a restock caption must say
Four things, in this order.
- What is back, by name.
- Whether anything changed, such as price, size, packaging or colour.
- How much you have, only if you actually know.
- Where to order.
Anything beyond that is decoration. Short is fine.
Template one, simple and direct
- [Product name] is back in the shop.
- Same [material or recipe] as before. [One line if anything changed.]
- Rs [price]. Order at the link in bio.
Template two, thanking the people who asked
- Many of you asked when [product name] would return. It is back today.
- This batch is [number] pieces. [Variants available.]
- Rs [price]. Link in bio, or reply here if you need help choosing.
Use the batch line only when it is your real count. "A batch of 30" is honest and specific. Never write "last few pieces" to rush people when you are about to produce more.
Template three, restock with an improvement
- Back, and slightly better. We changed [what you changed] after your feedback.
- [Product name], Rs [price].
- Everything else stays the same. Order at the link in bio.
Buyers like knowing their feedback was heard. Only say this if you actually made the change.
Link to the store, not to a DM
Update the product page first. Make sure the stock count and variants are right before you post. If the page still says sold out when your post goes live, you lose the best moment. If you sell on your own store, a sold-out page can also work as a signal for how many people were waiting. See dealing with overselling and out-of-stock orders for keeping counts straight.
Tell the people who saved the sold-out post
Reply in the comments of the old sold-out post with "It is back, link in bio". Post a story with a link sticker too. Anyone who commented "when is this coming back" deserves a direct reply. Do this by hand and be personal. It is not spam when someone asked.
What to avoid
- Do not claim "high demand" or "selling fast" unless you can show it.
- Do not announce a restock you have not physically received or produced.
- Do not promise the same quality if your supplier or material changed. Say what changed.
- Do not leave the old sold-out caption pinned without updating it.
A small habit that helps
Keep a note called "Restock list". Whenever someone asks "will it come back?", write down their name and the product. On restock day you will know who to message personally. It takes ten seconds per entry and turns a post into a real conversation. For the wider idea of rhythm in launches, what is a drop and why small brands love them is worth a read.
