What is a good reply to where is my order?
A good reply gives the real status in the first line, shares the tracking link from your store and says when you will check again, without guessing a delivery date.

The most common message you will ever get
"Where is my order?" is probably the question you will answer most often. The good news is that it is also the easiest to handle well, because almost every answer has the same shape. What the status is, where to see it, and what happens next.
The goal is a reply that answers the question and also prevents the next one.
Check first, reply second
Look up the order before you answer. Find the current status and the latest tracking update. If the order has not shipped yet, that is your answer. If it has shipped, you have a tracking link. On a Varchas store, the customer's order page includes a tracking link once the order has a shipment, so you can send them to that page and they can follow it themselves.
If you are not sure what each tracking label means, explaining tracking statuses in plain language is handy.
Template one: shipped and moving
"Hi Anjali, your order is on its way. The latest update shows it is [status, such as in transit or out for delivery]. You can follow it here: [tracking link]. It updates as the parcel moves, so that is the quickest place to check. If it has not changed for a couple of days, message me and I will chase it."
Template two: not shipped yet
"Hi Suresh, thank you for your message. Your order is packed and will go out [today, tomorrow, whenever you honestly know]. I will send you the tracking link the moment it ships."
Only name a day you can actually keep. If your cut-off for dispatch is the key, setting a daily cut-off time for orders makes this predictable.
Template three: out for delivery
"Hi Meena, good news, it is out for delivery today. The courier may call you, so please keep your phone nearby. Here is the tracking link: [link]."
Template four: no update for a while
"Hi Rohan, I see the tracking has not changed since [date]. That is longer than I like. I have contacted the courier today and I will update you by [a time you can keep]. I am sorry for the worry."
See why tracking looks stuck and what to tell customers for the reasons behind this and what to say.
Template five: delivered according to tracking, but not received
"Hi Kavya, the tracking shows it was delivered on [date], but I understand you have not received it. Could you check with family, neighbours or the building reception? I will ask the courier for the delivery details in the meantime."
Then follow the steps in customer says order never arrived, what now.
What not to say
- Do not guess a delivery date. You do not control the courier, so you cannot know.
- Do not say "it will reach tomorrow" because an app said so.
- Do not send a long explanation of courier operations.
- Do not ignore the message while you wait for an answer. A one-line "checking now" is better than silence.
Cut the questions off earlier
Many of these messages never need to arrive. If you send the tracking link the moment you ship, and tell customers where to find it later, fewer will ask. How to share tracking details with customers and handling where-is-my-order messages quickly show how to set that up.
Keep these templates in your notes, fill in the name and link, and the whole reply takes under a minute.
